West Indies A Announce Strong Squad For Series Against Nepal

West Indies A would embark on their first tour of Nepal for the 5-match T20I series starting from 27^th April 2024 and finish on 5^th May. It will be an ideal preparation for the Nepal side ahead of the T20 World Cup to be played in the West Indies and the United States of America to be played from 1^st June 2024.

This will be the first tour of any West Indies side to Nepal to date. West Indies A will be captained by Roston Chase who has played 49 Test matches, 45 ODIs, and 11 T20Is for the senior West Indies team. The squad comprises top-quality West Indies players who featured for the main side. West Indies played their only international match against Nepal during World Cup qualifiers in Zimbabwe.

It comprises experienced and promising players who have played in leagues worldwide. West Indies A would look to gain experience as few of them might be included in the squad for the T20I World Cup at home.

West Indies A has quality T20 players which proved their worth for the main team and various leagues across the world. They would look for quality time against Nepal.

West Indies white-ball coach Daren Sammy said, “From a coaching perspective, the Nepal tour couldn’t have come at a more opportune time. It offers us a chance to refine our World Cup squad, defining roles and personnel more clearly. Additionally, with nine players in the IPL, we can truly gauge and push the limits of our T20 team’s depth.”

The coaching and support staff for the series include head coach Floyd Reifer, assistant coach, Rayon Griffith, Psychotherapist Neil Barry, Strength and conditioning coach Shayne Cooper, and Team manager and Analyst, Avnesh Seetaram.

The West Indies A side would play all their matches at TU Cricket Ground. Ireland Wolves were the first team to visit Nepal recently.
