West Indies Gain A Significant Leap In Rankings Ahead Of The T20 World Cup 2024

India, the winners of the inaugural T20 World Cup, topped the men’s T20I team rankings ahead of the tournament’s forthcoming June 1– June 29, co-hosted by the USA and the West Indies. The ICC Men’s T20I Team Rankings have given the West Indies a significant advantage ahead of the much-awaited ICC T20 World Cup 2024.

The co-hosts’ 3-0 series victory over South Africa has given them a lot of confidence going into the big event. The West Indies dominated the Proteas in the three-match series, effectively preparing for the T20 World Cup. They scored 175/8 and bowled out the opposition for just 147 to win the opening game by a margin of 28 runs.

With one match left in the series, the West Indies won the second game by a margin of 16 runs. The hosts held the visitors to 191/7 after they had scored 207/7. And the West Indies destroyed South Africa by eight wickets in the third match. Following South Africa’s 20-over score of 163/7, the Caribbean team needed just a few wicket losses to chase the total down in 14 overs.
