Early Life and Domestic Career

Lawrence was educated at Chingford Cricket Club where his father works as a groundsman. He showed diversity in batting techniques when playing youth cricket. Is it God or is it Lawrence, as the cricketer made his first class but on April 2015 he had just finished against Kent playing for Essex.

At 17 years and 290 days only during his second first-class match, Lawrence scored a century against Surrey thus becoming the third youngest batter ever to score a century in the County Championship.

Lawrence’s batting influenced Essex’s promotion to the first division of the county championship leading to winning it during their first season back there in 2017. In addition, he also got the Young Cricketer of the Year award from Cricket Writers’ Club in 2017 and played for England Lions.

The London Spirit bought him for their 2022 season of The Hundred in April 2022. The London Spirit retained him in April 2023 for their 2023 season of The Hundred. It was reported in June 2023 that Lawrence would join Surrey on a three-year contract before the 2024 season.

Big Bash League

Lawrence became part of the Brisbane Heat and took the place of Tom Banton, during his recruitment of international players in November 2020. In the 2023/2024 season of Big Bash League (BBL13), he joined Melbourne Stars as an international recruit.

International career

In December of 2015, he was selected as part of England’s squad for the 2016 Under-19 Cricket World Cup and recorded an impressive 174 runs in a match against Fiji setting up a new record. In February 2020 he made significant contributions to his team while playing for the England Lions as man of the match, before once again showing his prowess with both bat and ball scoring 190 runs alongside three wickets during a tour match.

He was come middle in May 2020 within the post-COVID-19 international fixtures tennis ball rolling on top under 55 men training group specifically meant for England. In addition to that, in June month he made an appearance on a 30-member squad to face the West Indies Test series.

In December 2020, Lawrence started his Test career scoring 73 runs against Sri Lanka. In July, he was selected for the ODI series against Pakistan and also included in the Test squads for the 2022 Ashes series in Australia and the West Indies tour later that year. During the Test match in Barbados, he scored 91 runs.
