Born on January 11, 1973, Indore (India) to Brahmin Marathi-speaking family. Rahul Dravid grew up in Bangalore where there was a jam and preserves company run by his father Sharad while his mother Pushpa worked with the University Visvesvaraya College of Engineering as an architect.
