“What People Talk On TV About Him I Didn’t Feel That With Him” – Yash Dayal Commends Virat Kohli For His Support

RCB’s bowler Yash Dayal appreciated his fellow teammate cricketer Virat Kohli in terms of the convenience he provided during the whole period of the 2024 IPL season. He was having a pathetic 2023 IPL season with Gujarat Titans (GT) when he bagged two wickets at an average of 82.50 after playing five matches.

But for RCB, everything changed for the left-arm pacer by finishing the 2024 season with 15 wickets at an average of 30.6 following 14 appearances in total. In an interview granted to Sportsak, Dayal expressed his admiration for Kohli but argued that the documentaries aired on national TV regarding this former captain are far from reality.

“The biggest thing he said to me was that they would back me for the entire season and I will not feel as an outsider in the team. They backed me wholeheartedly in the entire season that was a booster for me. He interacts with youngsters in the same way like others and What people talk on TV about him I didn’t feel that with him,” said Dayal.

The most memorable time for Dayal during the 2024 IPL season was in RCB’s last league-stage match against Chennai Super Kings (CSK). In a must-win game for both teams, Dayal managed to defend 17 runs in his last over giving away just seven while bowling to reputed finishers MS Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja. His dramatic display ensured that RCB got into playoffs while knocking CSK out of it.

Yash Dayal expressed his admiration for the RCB dressing room by acknowledging the continuous support from senior players during the entire season.

In the second half of IPL 2024, RCB changed gears entirely to win their last six league matches after losing seven out of first eight outings thereby qualifying for playoffs. Nevertheless, they couldn’t proceed any further as they faced a loss in the Eliminator to Rajasthan Royals (RR).

“The dressing room of RCB is very chill and seniors are very nice and supportive and the players gel in well within the dressing room. It’s a management call (on mega auction) and I would like to only represent RCB as of now,” said Dayal in the same interaction.

At the same time last year, RCB was on an insane run but is yet to clinch its first-ever title in IPL. It’s important to know who the players will be held onto ahead of the 2025 Mega Auction and how the main team will appear like next year.
