Australia batted first and posted 369, with T Natarajan, Shardul Thakur, and Washington Sundar each claiming three wickets. In reply, India found themselves struggling at 186-6, but a vital seventh-wicket partnership of 123 between Thakur (67) and Sundar (62) helped them recover and reach 336.
In Australia’s second innings, they were bowled out for 294, with Mohammed Siraj shining with 5-73 and Thakur contributing 4-61. Chasing a challenging target of 328, Team India secured a historic victory thanks to crucial knocks from Shubman Gill (91) and Rishabh Pant (89*).
