Abhishek Sharma, a star of Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), ran into trouble after his former girlfriend and model, whose identity was given as Tania Singh, reportedly committed suicide in February 2024. Surat police department summoned this Indian Premier League (IPL) player because his name has been mentioned in connection with the demise of that 28-year-old lady model.
Tania was a fashion designing and modelling student from Surat City in the Indian state of Gujarat who lived in Abids, Hyderabad. The CD-R report hints that her last phone call or SMS was to a cricketer; police say that this player was also the last person Abhishek spoke with on the day of her death.
The model had also sent messages to Abhishek just before she supposedly killed herself; although he didn’t respond. Tania was later discovered by people lifeless on the ceiling of her flat. Even so, no letter that would explain everything before committing suicide was discovered anywhere within the premises she lived at but where her body lay lifeless.
Reportedly, they had a relationship and separated about 6 to 7 months ago. Whereas Tania contacted Sharma through messages and phone calls; he never bothered; in case you are not aware, Abhishek Sharma hails from Amritsar, Punjab and he is a famous cricketer born into this family where cricket is everything ever since his childhood.
Is Abhishek Sharma dating Diya Mehta?
Although Abhishek is making headlines for his exploits in cricket, some still do not know much about his personal life. Rumours are going around that he could be dating Diya Mehta who emerged as Miss Rajasthan’s second runner-up (2019).
Recently speculations have been rife especially now that during a recent Sunrisers Hyderabad photoshoot, this former Miss Rajasthan runner-up (from 2019), model & fashion stylist, was seen with Abhishek in one frame.
The suspected mystery girl participated in the spread of rumours about a playful Instagram post with Abhishek posing in it.
“Is your name Abhishek Sharma, because when I see you, I feel like I’ve hit a century of happiness.””
Even though there is no official confirmation about whether Abhishek or Diya are in a relationship, it seems as if Sharma does not want his private life to intermingle with his cricketing career.
