As a valuable asset to the Sri Lankan cricket team and being the all-rounder of the team, Kamindu Mendis always remains a valuable player in international cricket. And this is because he is perhaps one of the very few world cricket bowlers who has the techniques to bowl with both right and left arm.
During the first T20 of Sri Lanka and India on the 27th of July, 2024 at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium Kandy, Mendis was noticed to bowl with his right hand and left hand as well.
Lankan Lions skipper Charith Asalanka lost the toss and chose the side and Indian musclemen cracked the Sri Lankan bowlers. Kamindu Mendis, the spinner of young age gave the feature of a complete cricketer by bowling with a right hand and left hand in one over.
He opened to Suryakumar Yadav and batted left-handed and against Rishabh Pant he batted right-handed. In that match, Mendis bowled one over and gave nine runs but Suryakumarinton hit him four on the first ball of the over Mendis tried to make cluster and clean bowled his over.

Kamindu Mendis Career:
Kamindu Mendis has previously dazzled the crowd with his dual-handed finger spin bowling technique. Mendis initially gained notoriety when he participated for Sri Lanka in the 2016 U19 World Cup, which was hosted in Bangladesh, and used both hands to bowl.
When Mendis was thirteen, his instructor supposedly recommended that he bowl alongside his natural left-arm spin, using right-arm spin as well. 1998 saw his birth in Galle.
In the year 2018, Mendis made his first appearance in an international match played for Sri Lanka against England T20I when he was just twenty years old. Like he often does, during this occasion, he bowled left-arm orthodox to the right-handed Joe Root while facing off breaks against left-handed Eoin Morgan. So far, Mendis has played three test matches, seven ODIs, and eight T20 matches for Sri Lanka at the 2024 T20 World Cup.
