The Women’s T20 challenge 2022 tournament is currently being held in Maharashtra. It is a great platform for young women cricketers to showcase their talent and skills. Recently, Kiran Navgire hogged the limelight after scoring a fifty in 25 deliveries.

Navgire belongs to Solapur which is a small city in Maharashtra. She started her journey in sports as a Javelin thrower, shot put and relay runner. Kiran won several medals and trophies in athletics. But in the year 2016, she shifted her focus to cricket. Kiran Navigre idolizes MS Dhoni in the field of cricket.

She shifted to Nagaland after she wasn’t given chance for the Maharashtra team. Kiran was in brilliant form in the recent domestic season. The top-order batter scored 525 runs in the Senior Women’s T20 Trophy and ended up being the highest scorer of the tournament. She smashed 162 runs in 76 balls on her debut against Arunachal Pradesh.

The most special part about Kiran Navgire is that she is a power hitter. She believes in dealing in sixes rather than taking singles or doubles. Power hitting is a very rare skill in women’s cricket. She has the capability to be a good finisher for the Indian women’s cricket team in future.

The 27-year-old is representing the Velocity team led by Deepti Sharma. In her second game, Kiran Navgire impressed everyone with her amazing hitting abilities. She played a brilliant knock of 69 runs in 34 balls. This knock included five fours and five sixes.

Kiran broke the record of Shafali Verma of the fastest fifty in the Women’s T20 Challenge. But this knock of Kiran ended up in a losing cause. Trailblazers won the match by 16 runs. However, Trailblazers failed to make it into the finals. Velocity and Supernovas would face each other in the Final of the Women’s T20 Challenge 2022.
