Early Life
The right-handed batsman has played for England in six ODIs and nine T20s. In November 2019, Banton debuted in T20 internationals against New Zealand. His highest score in T20 internationals is 71 against Pakistan. In February 2020, he made his ODI debut against South Africa.
KKR bought Banton for INR 1 crore, which was also his base price, during the players’ auction. Besides batting, he can also keep wickets. Banton had had a successful season playing domestically for Somerset during 2019 that attracted selectors’ attention to him.
Subsequently, he played in several leagues across the globe. The middle-order batting for Knight Riders will be more likely done by Banton.
