Young opener Vaibhav Suryavanshi will use a separate dressing room from the rest of Team India during the upcoming five-match T20I series in England, according to ESPNCricinfo. The 15-year-old is required to follow this arrangement in line with ICC and England and Wales Cricket Board safeguarding rules for players below 16 years of age.
Although Suryavanshi will be allowed in the Indian dressing room for team meetings and matches, he will need to change separately. He may also use the main dressing room at a designated time, provided he leaves before the rest of the squad begins changing.
These regulations are also expected to apply during the two-match T20I series against Ireland, scheduled before the England series. Recently, Board of Control for Cricket in India secretary Devajit Saikia stated that Vaibhav Suryavanshi will be accompanied by his parents during the tours of Ireland and England, with the BCCI covering all related expenses.
It remains uncertain whether the teenage sensation will make his India debut during the upcoming seven T20Is. The Men in Blue begin their tour against Ireland in the first T20I in Belfast on Friday, June 26. Meanwhile, the five-match T20I series against England will begin in Chester-le-Street on July 1.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi Gets Maiden India Call-Up Following Brilliant IPL 2026
Vaibhav Suryavanshi reached new heights in the 2026 IPL by perfectly blending consistency with aggressive batting. In just his second IPL season after an impressive debut in 2025, the left-hander shattered several records.
The 15-year-old was named Player of the Tournament after scoring 776 runs in 16 matches at an average of 48.50 and a remarkable strike rate of 237.30. Suryavanshi also surpassed Chris Gayle’s record for the most sixes in a single IPL season, smashing 72 maximums.
The left-handed opener also showcased his ability to deliver under pressure, smashing back-to-back 90-plus scores at strike rates exceeding 200 in the Rajasthan Royals’s two playoff matches. Vaibhav Suryavanshi also holds the second and third-fastest IPL centuries, reaching the milestones in just 35 and 36 balls respectively, despite playing only 23 matches across his first two seasons.
His outstanding IPL 2026 campaign, which came after a Player of the Tournament performance in the Under-19 World Cup earlier this year, secured him his maiden national call-up for the T20I series in Ireland and England.
