After appreciating Jos Buttler on twitter, former India cricketer Yuvraj Singh has faced some heat from the fans. Match 24 of IPL 2022 was played between Rajasthan Royals and Gujarat Titans. Rajasthan won the toss and opted to field.
During the 12th over of GT’s innings, Hardik Pandya pulled Jimmy Neesham towards the long-on area where Jos Buttler attempted to save a boundary. However, Buttler was unsure if he was successful in his effort.
So, he signalled the on-field umpires to confirm with the TV replays. It was seen that his leg was in contact with the boundary rope while releasing the throw. Hence, his effort went in vain but he received a lot of appreciation from the cricket fraternity for his gesture.

Yuvraj Singh also lauded Buttler for his sportsmanship. “We still have gentleman in the game of cricket”, he wrote. However, the latter part of his tweet seemed like a subtle dig at Ravichandran Ashwin. Yuvraj added, “other players should learn from him, especially teammates.”
Here is how Twitter reacted to Yuvraj Singh’s tweet:
If he is referring to Ashwin, it’s just a cheap shot. Anyway Ashwin is doing the right thing and is a trendsetter.

Ohk , Ashwin dropped him from the Punjab team when Ash was the captain of KXIP , hence this bitterness.
Keep doing it , keep spoiling your legacy 👋👋— Sojal (@Lost_guy01) April 14, 2022
Indirect mock to Ashwin? 🤣
— Shanku Bhattacharya ⭐⭐🇮🇳 (@UpTheBluessss) April 14, 2022
Why so gussa on Ashwin?
— ALINJAR DAN (@AlinjarDan) April 14, 2022
This is in poor taste and clearly a jibe on Ashwin. Yuvraj Singh will lose respect from fans if he keeps on spewing nonsense like his father. https://t.co/AG9KpkGjYh

Saltyness nahi jaega tum logo ka kabhi bhi , that's why you'll never be loved the way MS gets loved.
You could have appreciated Buttler without targeting Ashwin , but nahi
And Ashwin doesn't need your certificate to be a Gentlemen , he was one and he'll always be one…— Sojal (@Lost_guy01) April 14, 2022
Why so much hate.
It takes time to earn respect but just moments to lose it.— Rohan Mali (@ro21_9) April 14, 2022
What is the obsession people with Ashwin 😂
He's one of the smartest minds in the game and people can't cope with that

“It is there in the rules of the game” – Ravichandran Ashwin on spirit of the game debate
Ravichandran Ashwin has been at the centre of ‘Spirit of cricket’ debate for the past few years. In IPL 2019, while playing for Punjab Kings, he had mankaded Jos Buttler. Many had deemed this act of Ashwin as unfair.
The off-spinner responded to all the criticism and said: “It is there in the rules of the games. I don’t know where the understanding of the spirit of cricket comes from”
While playing for Delhi Capitals in IPL 2021, Ashwin had another such moment. The then KKR skipper Eoin Morgan wasn’t happy with Ashwin who had stolen an extra run on one of the deliveries after the ball had ricocheted off Rishabh Pant’s bat.
Morgan was of the opinion that Ashwin’s action didn’t uphold the ‘spirit of cricket’. It had led to a heated war of words between the two parties.
