Gill took a few balls to settle initially before putting pressure on Karnataka bowlers. He smashed 50 off just 30 deliveries and made the batting look easy. After completing his fifty, the explosive opener decimated the Karanakta bowling lineup with aggressive shots reaching his century off 49 balls.
He continued his aggressive style of batting before eventually being dismissed for 126 with 11 fours and 9 sixes to help Punjab post a massive total. Anmolpreet Singh also scored 59 off 43 balls, while Sanvir Singh’s quickfire knock made life tough for the Karankata bowlers. Kaverappa was the pick of the bowlers for Karanakta with 3 for 44.
Fans were delighted with the Punjab batter’s impressive knock on Tuesday and showered praise on him on social media platforms.

Y he wasn't introduced in T20 setup earlier in Indian team is a mystery?

Never before was Strike Rate more important than the actual runs scored. With KL & Rohit struggling at the top for far too long, it’s right time for Shubham to break the shackles and cement his spot along with Pant & Samson. We need dashers not draggers.

Karnataka struggled initially losing early wickets, but they kept on fighting as Abhinav Manohar‘s unbeaten 62 off 29 balls, Manish Pandey’s 45 off 29 balls, Krishnappa Gowtham’s 30*, and Manoj Bhandage’s quickfire knock could not assure as Punjab won the match by just 9 runs.
