WI vs ENG: West Indies Announce Squad For Test Series Against England

The West Indies Cricket Board named the squad for the three-match test series against hosts England from 10th July onwards. Kraigg Braithwaite would lead the side. Jason Holder makes a comeback to the test squad. It looks like an inexperienced batting order with Kraigg Braithwaite, Alick Athanaze, Kavem Hodge, Tevin Imlach, and Kirk McKenzie.

Mikyle Louis and Zachary McCaskie would feature as a debutant in the squad. Joshua Da Silva would do the job of wicketkeeping job. West Indies has a strong pace bowling unit comprising Kemar Roach, Jayden Seales, Shamar Jospeh, Jason Holder, and Alazzari Jospeh. They have Kevin Sinclair and Gudakesh Motie as the spinners for the 3-match Test series.

West Indies Look To Win Test Series on England Soil

West Indies cricket team lost the 3-match Test series by 1-2 on England soil in 2020. Kraigg Braitwaite-led side registered a historic win against Australia at Gabba, Brisbane after a long gap. These three test matches will be a part of the 2023-25 ICC World Test championship. West Indies is currently 6^th in the points table with 4 matches, including 1 win, 2 losses, and 1 draw.

They will be looking to make amends with lovely performances against England on their soil. The first test match of the series will be played from 10^th July onwards at Lords, London. This will be the last encounter for James Anderson in international cricket.

West Indies will face England in the second match of the test series at Trent Bridge, Nottingham from 18^th July onwards. Kraigg Braithwaite and Co will face England in the 3^rd Test match from 26th July at Edgbaston, Birmingham.

Shamar Joseph was the star in the second innings against Australia picking up 7 wickets at Gabba, Brisbane during the day-night fixture to register a famous win. It promises to be an exciting contest as West Indies would look to register a series win on England soil.
