Former India player Wasim Jaffer added a humorous twist to the news of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma‘s absence in the second ODI against West Indies. As Hardik Pandya stepped out for the toss in Barbados, there was an air of anticipation. The stand-in captain, Pandya, confirmed that Rohit Sharma indeed wouldn’t be playing alongside Virat Kohli.

In the first match, India managed to secure victory despite encountering some challenges. Ishan Kishan’s exceptional performance with the bat played a vital role in helping India successfully chase down a total of 114 runs. Now, the visitors were eager to secure the series with a second consecutive win.

During the toss, Pandya expressed the team’s desire to bat first and evaluate the pitch conditions, which were somewhat inconsistent. He explained that Rohit and Virat were being rested due to their consistent participation in cricket matches, ensuring they’d be fresh for the third ODI.

While Pandya praised the team’s impressive catching, he acknowledged the need for improvement in certain areas. As a result, Sanju and Axar replaced Rohit and Virat in the playing XI.

Wasim Jaffer, the former Indian opener, added a comical twist to the duo’s absence by tweeting a humorous remark. His tweet featured an image of Salman Khan and Shahrukh Khan from the movie ‘Pathaan,’ humorously portraying Rohit and Virat as spectators watching the match from the dressing room.

On the West Indies side, skipper Shai Hope revealed their decision to bowl first, considering the pitch conditions and taking into account the outcome of the previous game. The team was determined to win the match and stay alive in the series.

With both teams eager for victory, the second ODI promised to be an intriguing and entertaining contest in the world of cricket.
