WI vs IND: [WATCH] Star India Player Carries Drinks In The 2nd ODI; Video Goes Viral

In the second ODI against the West Indies, the Indian team management decided to give rest to Virat Kohli, along with captain Rohit Sharma, and allow other Indian batters to take centre stage. Unfortunately, the plan didn’t work out as expected. Only Ishan Kishan managed to score a half-century, while Shubman Gill and Suryakumar Yadav got decent starts but couldn’t convert them into big scores.

Even players like Sanju Samson and Axar Patel, who were competing for spots in the lineup, failed to impress, leading to India losing the match by six wickets. During the game, Kohli didn’t get a chance to bat, but he wasn’t entirely absent from the proceedings. He was seen on the field, carrying drinks for the Indian team alongside Yuzvendra Chahal during the innings.

This isn’t the first time Kohli has done so; he had previously performed the same role during the 2017 Dharamsala Test match against Australia when he was captaining the team, but was injured and unable to play. In the match, India batted first and were all out for just 181 runs in 41 overs, despite a promising start at 90/0 in the 17th over.

Chasing this target of 182, the West Indies faced some challenges, but their captain, Shai Hope, once again led from the front with a top score of 63 off 80 balls. Kyle Mayers provided a quick start with 36 off 28 balls, but his dismissal triggered a minor collapse before Hope found support in Keacy Carty. The duo’s unbeaten 91-run partnership steered the West Indies to victory.

In the previous ODI, Hope had played a lone warrior role, scoring 43 off 45 balls, but the West Indies were bowled out for just 114 runs. Rohit and Kohli had chosen to bat lower down the order, but India faced a batting collapse, and Rohit had to come in at No.7 to eventually secure a win.

However, in the second ODI, India’s experimentation with the squad didn’t yield the desired results, leaving them to ponder their team selection for the crucial third ODI. It remains to be seen whether India will continue experimenting or go with their best possible team in the next match.
