“Will Miss You My Beautiful Streak” – Fans React As India Suffer A Loss To New Zealand In The 2nd Test
India vs New Zealand

New Zealand made history as the first visiting team to beat India in a Test series since 2012. Led by Tom Latham, they took an unassailable 2-0 lead with a commanding 113-run victory in the second Test at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune on October 26.

Team India faced a daunting target of 359 runs to extend their streak. Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal started strong, with Jaiswal scoring an impressive fifty. However, India quickly fell from 127/2 to 167/7, including Rishabh Pantโ€™s duck.

Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin worked to keep the chase alive, but New Zealand had enough runs to play conservatively. India pushed into the final session with Jadeja holding firm, but New Zealand ultimately took the last wickets to clinch the victory.

Fans were disappointed with the performance at home, marking the end of a significant era in Indian cricket.

Here are some reactions of fans:

“TOOTA HAI GHAR KA GHAMAND, JEET GAYI HAI NEW ZEALAND,” one user wrote.

“Losing this Test Series is bigger than Losing an ICC Final,” another user commented.

“Last 2 test matches have made me realise the importance of dull, old boring test draws where nobody had any intention to win,” one fan posted.

“For us to achieve this for the first time is indescribable” – Glenn Phillips on New Zealand’s historic accomplishment

New Zealand defied expectations by defeating India in the subcontinent, showcasing dominance in every aspect for consecutive victories. Mitchell Santner delivered a standout performance, taking 13 wickets in the match, while the rest of the team contributed to a comprehensive display.

“For us to do it for the first time is indescribable. It has been very tough to compete with the Indian boys in their conditions. We tried to learn and adapt, and be a bit more positive in these conditions. For it to pay off like this feels amazing,” Glenn Phillips told the broadcasters after the win.

The third Test of the series will be held at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai starting November 1.
