Team India is gearing up for the World Test Championship final against Australia which will take place from June 7 to June 11 at The Oval in London. Skipper Rohit Sharma joined the camp a few days back, along with Yashasvi Jaiswal. He was seen sweating it out in the Team India nets ahead of the World Test Championship final.
Rohit Sharma will be heading into the final after a substandard performance in the 2023 Indian Premier League. He scored just 332 runs in 16 matches throughout the season with an average of 20.75, and a strike rate of 132.80, including two fifties. Have to go out there and get the best result: Rohit Sharma
Team India skipper Rohit Sharma reflected on their journey in the World Test Championship cycle. They finished second with 127 points from 18 matches, and a PCT of 58.80 to qualify for the final. This will be Team India’s second consecutive appearance in the final of the World Test Championship. They lost to New Zealand in the last cycle.
Reflecting on their journey in this cycle, Team India skipper Rohit Sharma expressed that the team is happy with the effort. However, he added that they have to give their best in the final. He said,
“To be standing here knowing that we’ve qualified for the finals feels really, really great. The boys are really happy about it because all that effort that we put in for the last two years finally has come to the fore. Obviously, the job is not done. We have to go out there and get the best result for us in the final.”
