The opening batter of the Indian cricket team, Yashasvi Jaiswal, made a record in the cricket world on Monday, 30th December, and included himself in the list of legends like Sachin Tendulkar, Sunil Gavaskar, and Virender Sehwag. The 23-year-old left-handed batter set a world record of scoring over 1400 Test runs in a calendar year, making him the fourth Indian to do so.

The stunner came on the fifth day of the ongoing fourth India-Australia Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. This is something that has been achieved by his consistent performance in batting during the entire year.

Hailing from a village in Bihar, Jaiswal is now standing shoulder to shoulder with Indian cricket superstars and clearly has the potential to conquer the cricketing world as one of the best batsmen. What he has done has created ripples of enjoyment amongst cricket lovers and everyone is now looking forward to the next performance of the man. Jaiswal is a new face in international cricket. Yashasvi Jaiswal is the highest-ranked Test batsman in India in 2024

Yashasvi Jaiswal, an emerging Indian opening batter, created history on Monday, December 30, by signing off as the fourth Indian to achieve more than 1400 Test runs in a calendar year. Achieving this, this left-handed batter has done it on the fifth day of the fourth India-Australia Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

After such a performance, Jaiswal finds himself in the elite company of legendary cricketers such as Sachin Tendulkar, Sunil Gavaskar, & Virender Sehwag. He has made three hundred and eight fifties in total till now in 2024 at present, which also demonstrates his stupendous batting performance.

Tendulkar also has the most runs for India in Test cricket aggregate for a year, having scored 1562 runs in the year 2010. Both Sehwag and Gavaskar have also crossed the 1400-run barrier in test cricket for a calendar year.

Jaiswal has risen to become India’s highest-ranked Test batter and his services will be particularly invaluable in a chase of 340 against Australia at the famous MCG.
