Yuzvendra Chahal And Dhanashree Verma Cut Social Media Ties Amid Divorce Rumours

Indian leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal and his wife Dhanashree Verma have grabbed attention after fans noticed they unfollowed each other on Instagram. Chahal has also reportedly removed or archived all posts featuring his wife on the platform.

The couple has not released an official statement or confirmed any rumours about their relationship status.

Sources close to the couple told Times Of India confirmed that the divorce rumours are true. “The divorce is inevitable, and it’s only a matter of time before it becomes official. The exact reasons for their separation are not known yet, but it’s clear that the couple has decided to move on with their lives separately,” they said.

During the COVID-19 lockdown, Yuzvendra Chahal reached out to Dhanashree Verma, a professional choreographer, for dance lessons. Their connection quickly grew, transforming from friendship into love.

The couple got married on December 22, 2020, at the Karma Lakelands resort in Gurugram. Dhanashree was often seen enthusiastically supporting Chahal from the stands during Indian Premier League (IPL) games and Team India matches.

“Put an end to it”- When Yuzvendra Chahal addressed the rumours of a split with Dhanashree in 2022

It’s important to note that this isn’t the first time Yuzvendra Chahal’s personal life has made headlines. In 2022, multiple reports suggested that there could be issues in the 34-year-old cricketer’s marriage.

However, Chahal posted an Instagram story on August 18, 2022, urging fans not to believe the rumors. Dhanashree also shared the same message on her Instagram story. The talented spinner wrote:

“A humble request to you all to not believe in any sort of rumors pertaining to our relationship. Kindly, put an end to it. Love and light to everyone.”

In the IPL 2025 mega-auction, Chahal became one of the most in-demand players. Following a heated bidding battle, he was signed by Punjab Kings (PBKS) for a record ₹18 crore, setting the record for the most expensive spinner in the league’s history.
