Indian leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal has been excluded from the Men in Blue’s squad for the upcoming five-match T20I series against Australia.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) revealed a 15-member squad for the series on Monday, November 20, with Yuzvendra Chahal notably absent. Chahal has also been excluded from earlier tournaments such as this year’s Asia Cup and the 50-over World Cup.
In response to the squad announcement, Chahal posted a cryptic emoji on social media. He shared his reaction on the microblogging platform X (formerly Twitter).

Chahal’s most recent international outing occurred in India’s five-match T20I series against West Indies in August this year. Unfortunately, it was a disappointing performance as he secured five wickets from five games with an economy rate of 9.05.
Chahal, with 96 wickets in 50 T20I matches, holds the position of India’s top wicket-taker in the format. Despite this, he has been excluded from recent national selections, with Ravi Bishnoi chosen over him for the Australia series.
