Emerging developments have taken a fresh turn in the divorce proceedings between Yuzvendra Chahal and Dhanashree Verma. The couple married in December 2020 and had been living apart since June 2022. They jointly filed for the divorce by applying to the court on February 5, 2025, for mutual consent and the waiver of the minimal six-month waiting period under Section 13B of the Hindu Marriage Act.
The petition was, however, dismissed on February 20, 2025, by the family court, because there was no complete implementation of the settlement agreement between the two parties, specifically mentioning that Chahal owed Dhanashree the remaining sum of his permanent alimony. According to the agreement, he was to pay ₹ 4.75 crore to Dhanashree, of which he had already paid ₹ 2.37 crore, with a huge amount remaining.
Yuzvendra Chahal Divorce Proceedings Fast-Tracked:

By recent development, the Bombay High Court seems to have quashed the family court’s earlier decision and set up an order for the divorce to be finalized very soon. As Chahal has an active schedule for the Indian Premier League (IPL), Justice Madhav Jamdar directed the family court to conduct an urgent hearing of the divorce petition before March 20, 2025.
Once effective, the order has answered all those who were following Chahal and Dhanashree’s divorce with such intent that now they can end it sooner and lead their respective lives. One must acknowledge media and reports putting out information and rumors surrounding their divorce proceedings.
With the High Court’s directive, the two are now on their last leg, separating completely within days. The couple’s separation signifies an end to their marriage that started in December 2020. As they march on to their next lives, all eyes and wishes would now be on them from their fans and well-wishers.
