India failed to create an impact as they lost to Bangladesh women in the finals of the Asia cup T20I tournament at Kuala Lampur, Malaysia.
When the equation read 23 were needed off the final 3 overs, the fans were expecting a match similar to India vs Bangladesh 2016 T20 when India triumphed by a single run. Bangladesh women held the nerve as they tried to break the jinx and clinched the title in style.
Here’s the video of the final ball in which the game still remained in the favour of both the sides. Skipper Harmanpreet Kaur bowled the 18th and the final over. She conceded a boundary in the first ball of her spell(18th over) and this really wiped the pressure off the Bangladeshis who won the match by running between the wickets.
It is to be noted that Bangladesh won against India on both the occasions in the tournament.
The low scoring thriller really made the audience grip to the seats but the result wasn’t favourable for the Indians. It is to be noted that this is second consecutive heartbreak for India in tournaments as they lost the 2017 World Cup against England besides this Asia cup.
Sloppy fielding and improper team selections will come into the picture and the management will be really looking forward to tinker the same.
Bangladesh women will now play the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup qualifiers from July 3-14 at the Netherlands. This Asia cup victory will really boost the confidence of the side ahead of the tournament.
It will be really interesting to see how Indian side will perform in the ICC World T20 World Cup in West Indies later this year.
