In the 23rd match of IPL 2025, two heavyweights the Gujarat Titans (GT) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) locked horns at the colossal Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. GT and RR both came in with strong squads and high expectations. The Narendra Modi Stadium was buzzing a sea of blue and pink flags, cheers echoing across stands, and fans anticipating a high-octane encounter.
Fiery Start – Jofra Archer’s Thunderbolts
RR skipper Sanju Samson called it right at the toss and chose to field first, banking on his lethal pace attack to exploit the early movement under lights. Jofra Archer, who had a patchy start to this year’s IPL, stormed into this match like a man on a mission. Right from the first ball, he was on fire literally. His rhythm was fluid, run-up smooth, and the release… lethal.
In the very first over, Archer clocked 152.3 kmph, making it the second-fastest delivery of IPL 2025 so far. It was a short-pitched snorter, zipping into Sai Sudharsan’s body. The batter attempted a pull but was completely beaten by sheer pace left stunned. Sai, a promising young GT batter, looked rattled. That one Archer delivery seemed to echo through the stadium.
Gujarat Titans’ Innings – A Tough Start
Jofra Archer set the tone early, troubling both batters in the opening over. Sai Sudharsan found his rhythm with a boundary against Farooqi, but Gujarat suffered a setback as Shubman Gill fell to a full, fast inswinger from Archer. Undeterred, Sudharsan launched a counterattack against Deshpande, smashing 18 runs in a single over. By the end of the powerplay, Gujarat Titans had recovered well, reaching 56/1, with Sudharsan leading the charge.

Fastest Deliveries of IPL 2025
Lockie Ferguson currently holds the record for the fastest delivery in IPL 2025, clocking 153.2 kmph (95.2 mph) during the LSG vs PBKS match. Jofra Archer isn’t far behind, with his 152.3 kmph (94.63 mph) thunderbolt in the GT vs RR clash securing the second spot.
Kagiso Rabada follows with 151.6 kmph (94.2 mph) in GT’s matchup against PBKS, while Archer appears again in the rankings, delivering 151.3 kmph (94 mph) against PBKS. Mohammed Siraj rounds out the top five, hitting 149.6 kmph (93 mph) in GT’s face-off against Mumbai Indians.
