With the entire cricketing world is focused on the T20 World Cup, Chetan Sharma’s selection committee has announced the Indian squad for the upcoming series against New Zealand and Bangladesh.
Many first-choice Indian players have been rested for the tour of New Zealand but all the players will be available for the ODI series against Bangladesh. In view of the 2023 ODI World Cup, the series against Bangladesh is very important and through this, it will be known which players are in the scheme of things of the World Cup 2023.

#1 Shubman Gill
Shubman Gill has been in unbelievable form in ODI cricket for some time now. Shubman has performed brilliantly in the ODI series against the West Indies, Zimbabwe and South Africa and was considered a regular member of the Indian ODI squad. But everyone was shocked as he was not included in the team for the ODI series against Bangladesh.
Interestingly, Shubman’s recent performance has been very good and he was considered one of the key players for the Indian team in the 2023 World Cup. It will be interesting to see if Shubman gets a chance in India’s ODI team after this or not.
#2 Suryakumar Yadav
T20 superstar Suryakumar Yadav is yet to become a regular member of India in ODI cricket. It was expected that Suryakumar Yadav would be included in the Indian ODI squad, but it did not happen. Importantly, in the absence of key players, Surya was included in the squad for the ODI series against New Zealand, but he did not get a place in the squad against Bangladesh.
Seeing Surya’s brilliant form in T20 cricket, cricket experts have demanded that he should be given a chance in ODI cricket as well. If Surya shows his T20 cricket form in ODI cricket as well, he can definitely prove to be the X-factor player for the Indian team in 2023 ODI World Cup.
#3 Sanju Samson
Sanju Samson’s career has been the biggest talking point in Indian cricket. Many cricket experts around the world praise Sanju for his skills but he has not got enough opportunities in the Indian team. Importantly, we also have to admit that Sanju has not been able to perform well in the opportunities he has been given.
However, Sanju had performed well in the recent ODI series against South Africa and was expected to be a regular member of India’s ODI team from now on. Interestingly, Sanju has been given a chance for the ODI series against New Zealand but he has not been included in the squad for the ODI series against Bangladesh.
