Alex Carey, the wicketkeeper-batter for Australia, has said that India would not be able to repeat its miserable performance from the last pink-ball Test at Adelaide in 2020 against now before the much-awaited match. India scored only 36 runs in that match, but Carey believes that the current Indian team is far more consolidated and would not crumble under similar conditions.

The Adelaide Test will be held from December 6. India will come into this Test match with a huge advantage in terms of mental and physical health against the Australians. The first Test in Perth saw India ripping through Australia by 295 runs—the fact that Australia now finds itself nearly bowled over. Jasprit Bumrah’s brilliant bowling and captaincy were good enough to see India to victory, from which the Australians will have to regroup and recharge for the Adelaide Test.

“There are obviously amazing days”- Alex Carey

Australia wicketkeeper batter Alex Carey said that the hosts are not anticipating India to end the day after reaching its first 36 in the pink ball Test match held at Adelaide Oval speaking to the media ahead of the day-night Test match, which starts on December 6. An event like that happening is part of history, and history does not always keep repeating itself, Carey said.

Carey stressed the pride of Australia in its home pink ball record, which includes an unbeaten record at home in day-night tests, and the effort to follow required processes in the return series.

“There are obviously amazing days in cricketing history but we are not going there expecting to do that again. We have a process and a plan that we try to execute and whatever happens, happens. I was not here for that Test match. We are excited. Take a lot of confidence for our record in pink ball cricket. We will hope to succeed and I think our methods will help us bounce back from Perth,” Alex Carey told the media on Tuesday morning, December 3.
