Before becoming a cricketer, the right arm fast bowler was a policeman in New Zealand. He played a total of 18 test matches, 82 One day internationals and 20 T20Is for New Zealand.

Shane Bond was majorly a fast bowler who created pressure on the opposition batsmen with his abilities rush with pace and bounce. He made his test debut against Australia on 22 November 2001 and played his last match against Pakistan on November 24th 2009.

On 11th January 2002, Shane Bond made his ODI debut versus Australia and final ODI was against Australia on 13th March 2010. On 21st October 2005, he made his T20I debut against South Africa and the final match was against England on May 10th 2010.  He is currently the bowling coach of Mumbai Indians side in IPL.
