Mohammad Azharuddin one of the talented batsmen in Indian cricket played a total of 99 test matches, 334 One day international matches. He made his test debut against England on 31^st December 1984 and retired on 2^nd March 2000.

His ODI debut was against England on 20^th January 1985 and retired on 3^rd June 2000. During 1990’s he led the Indian test team in 47 matches. Involved in the match-fixing case, the BCCI decided to ban him for life.

On February 19^th 2009, Azharuddin decided to join Indian National Congress. In 2009 he won the Indian general election from Moradabad in Uttar Pradesh to become Member Parliament of India.
