The Pakistan Cricket Team is going through a tough team as they have lost two successive games against arch-rivals India and then Zimbabwe by 1 run in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2022. Earlier today, they made a comeback in the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup 2022, beating the Netherlands.

However, skipper Babar Azam has struggled in all games of the T20 World Cup so far. He was dismissed by Arshdeep Singh in the opening match and then by Brad Evans in the second match. He was run out in their third Super 12 fixture.

Former Pakistan great Wasim Akram made a harsh comment that Babar Azam is a selfish player who does not want to sacrifice for the team. Babar Azam played for Karachi Kings in Pakistan Super League.

Wasim was the coach of Karachi Kings in PSL last year and revealed that he asked to Babar Azam shift to number 3 but he did not agree and opened the innings.

“I have been through this by the way with Babar, at Karachi Kings. In the team we had a couple of bad phases and I requested him once or twice nicely, that please come down at number 3, we’ll try something different,” Wasim Akram said on A Sports show – The Pavillion.

“Let (Martin) Guptill bat at the top, seeing he is an opener. And he (Babar) said I would not go down, you ask Sharjeel to bat at 3, and he (Sharjeel) is a natural opener too. And these little things that the captain does, the team senses too,” he added.

Pakistan keep their hope alive in the ICC T20 World Cup 2022

Bowling first, Pakistan restricted the Netherlands to 91/9 in their 20 overs. Shadab Khan shone with the ball for his side, claiming three important wickets. Mohammad Wasim Jr bagged two wickets, while Shaheen Afridi, Nasim Shah and Haris Rauf finished with one wicket each.

In response, Mohammad Rizwan scored 49 off 39 balls to take his side home in just 13.5 overs. Fakhar Zaman and Shan Masood also chipped in with 20 and 12 runs, respectively.
