England white-ball captain Jos Buttler was seen making a cheeky remark to Cameron Green in the first ODI between England and Australia. The home side, however, took a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.

Incidentally, the mini-auction for the IPL 2023 is right around the corner, and Buttler unnerved Green by teasing the batter from behind the wicket.

“Big auction coming up, Daws,” Buttler said with his wicketkeeping gloves on. The remark by Jos Buttler went viral on social media.

This remark became an instant hit amongst all cricket fans and followers of the Indian Premier League. The auction is set to take place on December 23 in Kochi.

Cameron Green is among the few players likely to trigger a bidding war between the franchises due to his all-around capabilities. Here’s a video of the remark made by Buttler to Green:

The all-rounder scored an unbeaten 20 runs off 28 balls, which helped the Aussies to defeat the recently crowned T20 and defending ODI World Cup champions England. The English scored 287-9 courtesy of Dawid Malan‘s century.

Malan brought up his second ODI century yesterday at the Adelaide Oval. He scored 134 runs off 128 balls, which consisted of twelve fours and four maximums. He was also named the player of the match. The host chased down this total with 19 balls.

“Not happy because we needed to take wickets early on” – Jos Buttler

The new opening combination of David Warner and Travis Head’s opening partnership set the foundation for this chase. They had an opening stand of 147 runs. Head and Warner were dismissed for 69 and 86, respectively.

Steve Smith also scored yet another half-century for the team scoring an unbeaten 80 off 78 balls, which comprised nine fours and a maximum.

After the match, Jos Buttler said, “Not fussed about the result, we wanted to play with a certain character. Dawid Malan was brilliant to take us till there, and with the field, we tried different things, and everyone responded. Not happy because we needed to take wickets early on. Quick turnaround, we travel tomorrow and then play Saturday. There will be changes.”
