Kyle Jamieson To Miss IPL 2023 Due To Injury

Chennai Super Kings will miss the service of New Zealand young pacer Kyle Jamieson for IPL 2023. He will miss 3 to 4 months of cricketing action and would be undergoing surgery on his back.

Kyle Jamieson was set to play his first Test match on comeback against England in the Day-night Test match at Mount Maunganui. The reoccurrence of back injury ruled him out of the series and on consultation with the back surgeon, and MRI scans, there is a need for surgery.

“It’s been a challenging and difficult time for Kyle and a big loss for us,” Stead said. “He’s been fantastic around all of our sides when he’s been part of them. We just wish him well and hopefully, we’ll know more in three to four months about what that end prognosis looks like for him as well.”

Kyle Jamieson was a part of the team that won the inaugural ICC Test Championship tournament in 2022. New Zealand was no match to England in the first Test match at Mount Maunganui and looks to bounce in the second Test. Jamieson played for New Zealand against England in England during June 2022.

New Zealand went with the debutants Scott Kugglein and Blair Tickner but could not stop the scoring rate of England. England scored 325 for 9 declare and then 306 with a run rate of 5.57 and 5.06 per over.
