Australian Opener David Warner won his third Allan Border medal in Melbourne. The flamboyant left handed opener made his comeback into cricket after being suspended from cricket after the ball tampering saga in 2018.
The left handed pocket dynamite had a brilliant World Cup and to add on it had a great home test series with the bat as the Australian left handed opener scored 334* against Pakistan. He finished second on the highest run getters list only one run behind Rohit Sharma.
David Warner beat Pat Cummins and Steve Smith to win the prestegious award , the left handed opener pipped Steve Smith by just one vote to win the Allan Border Medal for the third time.
Warner won the T20I Player of the year whereas Marnus Labuschange who made his ODI debut against India this year won the Test Player of the year whereas Aaron Finch won the ODI Player of the year.
Women Cricketer Ellyse Perry won the Belinda Clarke Award for the third time after bagging it in 2016 and 2017. Perry beat Alyssa Healy to the award. She eased past Healy with 161 votes although the latter bagged the award for women T20I player of the year.
Wes Agar was given the Young Cricketer of the Year award for his brilliant performance in domestic cricket and Big Bash League.
Craig McDermott was inducted into the Hall of Fame.
