Team India skipper Virat Kohli’s poor run in the ongoing New Zealand tour continues as he got out cheaply once again in the second Test. The host crawled back in the game picking three quick wickets to have India at 113 for four after Prithvi Shaw provided a good start at the Hagley Oval in Christchurch.

The Kiwis once again won the toss and opted to bowl first and Trent Boult drew the first blood removing Mayank Agarwal. Since then Prithvi Shaw, who received a fair share of criticism in the last match, showed grit and determination to bail India alongside the Cheteshwar Pujara. They knocked the ball well with Shaw playing his aggressive game bringing his fifty quickly.

His knock included eight boundaries and one six before throwing his wicket to Kyle Jamieson having India at 80 for two. While it was expected that Virat Kohli after remaining subdued throughout this tour will deliver the good for the one last time in this tour, but his poor continued and on top of that, he wasted a review to consume all the two reviews after Mayank Agarwal wasted one in the morning.

Meanwhile, it was just a regular outswinger from Tim Southee and on a fullish length. Kohli played for swing, but this came it with the angle from over the wicket. His head fell over to the off-side and then the bat came down at an angle towards mid-on, missed it by some distance and impact was right on off stump. Kohli was trying to reach for the ball and played a long way in front.

It was a horrible call from Virat Kohli to opt for the DRS as it showed three red lights. Soon after his dismissal, the India skipper received severe criticism for his selfish nature which is very unlikely of a skipper.
