Former India cricket-turned commentator Sanjay Manjrekar has finally broken his silence after being sacked by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) from its commentary panel. Notably, BCCI has removed commentator Sanjay Manjrekar from its panel after he copped up severe criticisms for his remarks in recent times.

The apex body dropped him from the panel before the start of the recently-postponed ODI series between India and South Africa. The decision went unnoticed because the first ODI in Dharamsala got washed out. According to Mumbai Mirror, Sanjay Manjrekar was not in Dharamsala while all the other BCCI panel commentators, including Sunil Gavaskar, L Sivaramakrishnan and Murali Kartik were present.

The former India batsman was part of the commentary panel for the last three World Cups and almost all ICC  events since bringing down curtains on his illustrious career. However, the BCCI is not too impressed with his services in recent times.

Meanwhile, amidst all the buzz on social media among the fans in the wake of the development. Sanjay Manjrekar has finally opened up stating that he accepts this mandate as a professional. Also, he expressed that he considered this job as a privilege and not an entitlement.

“I have always considered commentary as a great privilege, but never an entitlement. It is up to my employers whether they choose to have me or not & I will always respect that. Maybe BCCI has not been happy with my performance of late. I accept that as a professional,” Sanjay Manjrekar wrote on Twitter.
