Goods train and two passenger trains collided on June 2 in the Balasore district of the Indian state of Odisha.

Virender Sehwag spent nearly 14 years and 374 international games for the Indian men’s team. He has pledged to cover the cost of the children of those killed in the train crash fatalities’ education.

The former cricket player turned commentator uploaded a photo of the tragic event to his Twitter account with the caption:
“This picture will stay with us for a very long time. The least I can do in this time of grief is to see to the children of those who perished in this tragic accident in terms of their education. I provide these kids with free education at the boarding school for Sehwag International School”.
Indian cricketers offer their support to the victims of the train accident. Numerous top-tier Indian cricketers have expressed their sorrow for the victims of the train accident in Odisha.
Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, Gautam Gambhir, Harbhajan Singh, Ajinkya Rahane, and many others tweeted about the shocking incident.
“I was saddened to hear about the terrible train accident in Odisha”. Former Indian captain Virat Kohli tweeted, “My thoughts and prayers are with the families who lost loved ones and wishing a speedy recovery to the injured”.
“I am truly sorry for the suffering caused by the train accident in Odisha. God grant courage to the grieving families and a speedy recovery to those hurt”, Rohit Sharma wrote on his Twitter account.
Following the Avadh Assam Express and Brahmaputra Mail collision at Gaisal Railway Station (North Dinajpur) in 1999, the recent train disaster is the most tragic train accident to ever occur in India. During that accident, 285 people died.
