Pacer Shaheen Afridi pulled off a stunning bowling performance for Nottinghamshire in the Vitality T20 Blast against Warwickshire on Friday, June 30 at Trent Bridge in Nottingham. He made history by picking up four wickets in the opening over of the Warwickshire innings. He became the first bowler to take four wickets in the first over.
Batting first, Nottinghamshire put on 168 runs on the board in the first innings. In response, they got off a flying start, defending the target. Warwickshire lost four wickets for just seven runs in the first over. Shaheen Afridi started with a wide, which went for a boundary. However, he made a strong comeback to dismiss Alex Davies and Chris Benjamin in consecutive deliveries.
Alex Davies was adjudged lbw to a toe-crushing yorker. The speedster was on Hat-trick in over, but Dan Mousley negotiated the threat with a single. Soon, in the same over, Dan was also sent back to the pavilion. Shaheen followed it up with another dismissal, bowling out Ed Barnard to take four wickets in an over.
