Pakistan Men’s Team’s chief selector Inzamam-ul-Haq announced squads for the ODI series against Afghanistan and the upcoming ACC Men’s 2023 Asia Cup on Wednesday, August 9 through a press conference. The three-match ODI series against Afghanistan will take place in Sri Lanka from August 22 to August 26. They will play in the Asia Cup which begins on August 30.

Shan Masood has been dropped from the Pakistan team following his under-par performance in the ODI series against New Zealand at home earlier this year. He had a string of low scores in the series, scoring 0,1, 44 and 7, respectively. “Shan has missed out on selection following a string of low-scores,” wrote the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) in their statement.

Meanwhile, Tayyab Tahir, Faheem Ashraf and Saud Shakeel have been included in the squad. Meanwhile, Faheem Ashraf is making a comeback to the team after two years. Saud Shakeel has been included in the squad for the Afghanistan series but has been ignored for the Asia Cup.
