Team India cricketer Rinku Singh stole the show with his blazing knock in his maiden innings in International cricket in the second T20I against Ireland on Sunday, August 20 at Malahide Cricket Club in Dublin. His knock powered India to 185 runs in the first innings of the match.
Rinku Singh walked out to bat at number five for Team India after the dismissal of Sanju Samson. He took on the Irish bowlers, slamming two boundaries and three sixes in the innings. In the nineteenth over, Rinku smashed two sixes and a four off Barry McCarthy to take 22 runs off the over. Rinku’s partnership with Shivam Dube off 55 runs got India to past 180 run-mark. He managed 38 runs off 21 deliveries at a strike rate of 180.95.

Team India finished their innings with 185 runs on the board at the loss of five wickets, Ruturaj Gaikwad played a valuable role, scoring 58 runs off 43 deliveries. Meanwhile, Sanju Samson also played a fine knock of 30 runs. Shivam Dubey smashed two sixes to stay unbeaten on 22 runs off 16 deliveries.

Rinku Singh made his International debut for Team India in the first T20I against Ireland on Friday, August 18 in Dublin. He did not get an opportunity to bat in the rain-marred game. Regarding his debut, Rinku shared that it was his parents’ goal to see him play for India. He said,
โIt is a nice feeling (being part of the Indian team setup) because I have worked very hard to reach here. I picked up cricket almost 10-12 years ago and the one goal my parents set for me was to represent the country. They felt IPL is played by so many but only a few get picked for the Indian team so they wanted me to make the most of my opportunities in IPL and get to the Indian team. And now their dream is about to come true.”
