Virat Kohli is close to setting two significant records in the 2023 World Cup
Also, in the 2023 World Cup, Virat Kohli is getting very close to breaking two major records. He just needs to score three centuries to beat Sachin Tendulkar’s record of having the most hundreds in ODIs (which is 49).
Kohli has scored a total of 156 runs in three matches at the current 2023 World Cup, and he played crucial innings in the victories against Australia (85) and Afghanistan (55*).
At 34 years old, he’s only 35 runs away from surpassing Mahela Jayawardena’s record for having the fourth-highest runs in international cricket.
Kohli, though, still has a considerable gap to cover to reach the top three – Ricky Ponting (27,483), Kumar Sangakkara (28,016), and Tendulkar (34,357). He has accumulated 25,923 runs in 510 matches up to this point.
Kohli’s next match in the 2023 World Cup will be against Bangladesh at the MCA Stadium in Pune on October 19.
