Encouraged by his commendable performance, RR opted to retain him for the 2023 season.
However, the 2023 season proved to be a stark contrast as McCoy was granted only one appearance. In that lone outing against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in Jaipur, he bowled just one over, contributing to RR’s four-wicket defeat by conceding 13 runs.
