Team India landed in South Africa for the upcoming multi-format tour, that kicks off on Sunday, December 10 in Durban. They took off from the Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru in the early hours of the morning on Wednesday, December 6. They are set to play three T20Is, as many ODIs and a two-match Test series.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) shared a video on social media as Team India’s first batch of players departed from Bengaluru to Durban. The players seemed to be in a great mood ahead of the much-awaited tour. They were greeted with warm applause at their team hotel in Durban by the staff members. Sharing the video on ‘X’ (formerly Twitter), the BCCI wrote, “South Africa bound #TeamIndia are here #SAvIND”

Team India last toured South Africa in 2021-22. They played three Test matches and as many ODIs on the tour. They did not have much success on the tour, losing the Test series 2-1. India also lost the ODI series 3-0. They will look to win their maiden Test series in South Africa, on the upcoming tour.
Rohit Sharma will be leading the team in the Test series, while Suryakumar Yadav will lead them in T20Is. Meanwhile, wicket-keeper KL Rahul will lead the team in the three-match ODI series. India will also play three practice matches, including an inter-squad three-day game.
