The 25-year-old middle-order batsman from Andhra Pradesh – Hanuma Vihari has impressed one and all with his grit and determination in his short international career. The young batsman has grown up watching some of the best in business. Recently, Vihari revealed his favourite batsman among the four pillars of Indian cricket in the last decade- Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, VVS Laxman, and Rahul Dravid.

Vihari made his debut for India at 24, by which time he was averaging nearly 60 in first-class cricket. His career is a perfect testimony that runs in domestic cricket matters. Since making his Test debut against England in 2018, Hanuma Vihari has proved that he is in the middle to stay.

He emerged as the best batsman on both sides during a 2-0 victory over West Indies in 2019, with 289 runs in four innings. At the end of that series, India’s captain Virat Kohli said the dressing room always feels calm when they see Vihari batting out in the middle because he was so correct in his approach.

Amid the prevailing lockdown due to the coronavirus pandemic, the cricketers are engaging in social media chats. Recently, during a conversation with Sportskeeda, Hanuma Vihari revealed his pick among the fav four. The Fab Four of Indian cricket, comprised of Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, Rahul Dravid and VVS Laxman. The international careers of the four mainstays intersected during the late ’90s and dominated most part of 2000s.

“Sachin Tendulkar will always be my favourite (among the Fab 4). He was my role model while growing up like many other youngsters. But all four had great qualities and were unique in their own ability. So, it was great watching them together in that era. But Sachin sir was always my favourite,” Vihari told Sporstkeeda on an Instagram Live session.

Meanwhile, Hanuma Vihari, who has already cemented his berth in the Test side will now aim to seal his spot in the limited-overs cricket. Recently, he said he can play all three formats and would love to represent the country but considering the current squad, it looks unlikely.
