Just a short while after aligning himself with the ruling YSRCP party in Andhra Pradesh, with the significant presence and endorsement of its leader, Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, Ambati Rayudu has surprised many by announcing his departure from the party’s ranks this past Saturday.
Rayudu conveyed his intention to distance himself from political engagements, stating that he wishes to take a hiatus from the realm of politics for the foreseeable future. This pivotal decision from Rayudu arrives amidst the impending state Legislative Assembly and Lok Sabha elections, adding an element of intrigue and speculation to the political landscape.
Through a post on the social media platform X, Rayudu formally communicated his exit from the YSRCP, articulating, “I wish to inform everyone of my decision to step away from the YSRCP Party and take a break from political activities, at least for the time being.”
While this move might come as a surprise to many of his supporters and party members, Rayudu assured that he would elucidate his future endeavours when the timing is apt.
Reflecting on his political journey, Rayudu’s association with the YSRCP was a relatively recent development, having officially joined the party on December 28, 2023. His induction was graced by prominent figures such as Deputy Chief Minister K Narayana Swamy and Rajampeta Lok Sabha member P Mithun Reddy.
Before delving into politics, Rayudu carved a notable niche for himself in the realm of cricket. He showcased his prowess while representing the Indian cricket team and contributed significantly to franchises like Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings in the coveted Indian Premier League (IPL).
Additionally, his dedication and skill were evident as he represented various state teams in domestic cricket tournaments. In recent times, Rayudu has been actively engaging with the public through a series of outreach programs, indicating his initial commitment and enthusiasm towards his political journey.
