Punjab Kings registered the highest successful run chase in the T20 format as they chased down 262 against Kolkata Knight Riders played at Eden Gardens, Kolkata on 26th April 2024. PBKS responded viral tweet from Bollywood star Salman Khan that he did in 2014.
Punjab Kings known as Kings XI Punjab in 2014 took the old tweets from qualifier 1 between PBKS versus KKR on May 28th, 2014. During that match, PBKS lost to KKR by 28 runs.
PBKS registered a brilliant win over Chennai Super Kings in the eliminator to qualify for the grand finale against the same opponent. They showed tremendous guts and skills to make it into the finals of the IPL for the first time. PBKS suffered a 3-wicket loss in a thrilling final played at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru.

Great Batting Display By Both Teams
It was an amazing batting display by Punjab Kings batters right from the word go. Prabhsimran Singh came as an impact player and put KKR bowlers under immense pressure with his attacking strokes. On the other hand, Jonny Bairstow was included in the playing XI and just batted with fearless approach.
Prabhsimran Singh registered fifty off just 18 deliveries. He was run out with a direct hit by Sunil Narine. Singh and Jonny Bairstow put on 93 runs for the opening wicket. Rilee Rossouw came to the crease with aggressive batting along with Bairstow.
Bairstow made the batting look easy, reaching fifty off 23 deliveries. It was a superb batting paradise with the ball coming onto the bat well. Rilee Rossouw played a key role with quickfire knock dismissed by Narine. Rossouw and Salt added 85 runs for the 2nd wicket.
Shashank Singh was promoted to number 4 and hit some towering sixes that put enough pressure on KKR bowlers. Singh completed fifty off 23 deliveries while Bairstow reached 2nd IPL century off 45 deliveries. Both ensured that PBKS won the match by 8 wickets. Bairstow and Shashank added 84 runs for the 3rd wicket.
After being asked to bat first by PBKS captain Sam Curran, Sunil Narine and Phil Salt showed intent right from the word go hitting boundaries and sixes at will. Both added 138 runs for the opening wicket laying a strong foundation for a big total.
Venetkash Iyer, Shreyas Iyer, and Andre Russell made valuable contributions as KKR posted 261 for 6 in 20 overs.
