[WATCH]- Harshit Rana Stops His Flying Kiss Celebration After Getting Abishek Porel Out With A Stunner

In the current 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL) match at Eden Gardens, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) pacer Harshit Rana bid farewell to Delhi Capitals’ (DC) batsman Abishek Porel after taking his wicket.

Following a lacklustre performance in the powerplay against the Mumbai Indians (MI), Porel displayed determination despite DC facing adversity, having lost three early wickets. The left-handed batsman quickly amassed 17 runs off 10 balls, hitting three consecutive boundaries in Rana’s first over.

Rana, bowling his second over immediately after the powerplay, deceived Porel with a cutter. Porel, attempting a scoop shot after moving away from the stumps, completely missed the ball, resulting in his dismissal as the ball crashed into the stumps.

Harshit Rana signalled for Porel to return to the dressing room after the stumps were disturbed. He nearly performed a flying kiss in celebration of the wicket but decided against it. It’s noteworthy that his flying kiss celebration resulted in a penalty during the season’s first game.

Porel accumulated 18 runs from 15 balls, including two boundaries and a six before getting out. Meanwhile, Rana is experiencing a fluctuating performance on the field.

Despite conceding 16 runs in his first over, he bounced back with a wicket in the following over. However, he also missed an easy catch off Varun Chakravarthy’s bowling, providing Rishabh Pant with a second opportunity.

Harshit Rana has already received a fine in IPL 2024 due to his celebration

This isn’t the first time the bowler has displayed such a celebration upon taking a wicket. Harshit Rana exhibited similar aggressive celebrations during KKR’s season opener against the SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) at Eden Gardens.

Rana confronted Mayank Agarwal and sent him off to the pavilion with a flying kiss. Additionally, he imitated a walk to the dressing room gesture with his hand after dismissing Heinrich Klaasen in the final over of the closely contested match.

For both incidents, he was fined 60 percent of his match fees as his celebrations were deemed Level 1 offenses, violating the IPL Code of Conduct.
