During an exciting match between Delhi Capitals (DC) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the legendary Eden Gardens, Vaibhav Arora‘s bowling skills created a remarkable moment full of action. After winning the toss against the home team, the Delhi Capitals encountered early difficulties as wickets fell rapidly. Vaibhav Arora, with his blazing deliveries, secured vital breakthroughs for KKR, initially removing Prithvi Shaw and later Shai Hope.
In the crucial 4th over of the 47th match of the IPL 2024 showdown, Shai Hope’s attempt to strengthen DC’s innings was thwarted by Arora’s delivery. Hope, fresh from hitting a six, saw his stumps disturbed by Arora’s next delivery. Arora’s dismissal displayed his precise execution, delivering a back-of-a-length ball that grazed Hope’s bat before demolishing the stumps.
Arora’s jubilant celebration indicated his contentment after taking his second wicket of the match, leaving the DC team struggling at 52 for 3 in a mere 5 overs.

Chakravarthy’s spin brilliance, complemented by Arora’s initial strikes, restricted Delhi to 153/9 for KKR
Varun Chakravarthy’s three vital wickets during the middle overs, combined with Vaibhav Arora’s strong beginning, led to a significantly enhanced bowling display by the Kolkata Knight Riders. This effort restricted the Delhi Capitals to a modest total of 153/9 in their IPL match in Kolkata on Monday.
Mounting a comeback, Arora (2/29) delivered a solid performance, giving KKR a strong start in the power play after Delhi opted to bat on a difficult pitch. Chakravarthy brought into the attack in the ninth over, proceeded to produce a mesmerizing performance.
He bowled four consecutive overs and secured crucial dismissals, including those of Rishabh Pant (27; 20 balls), Tristan Stubbs (4; 7 balls), and impact substitute Kumar Kushagra (1). His impactful spell of 3/16 tilted the match in KKR’s favour.
Harshit Rana chipped in with two wickets, while Mitchell Starc struggled as the bowling weak link, conceding 43 runs in three overs, averaging 14.30 runs per over. Experienced Sunil Narine operated quietly and finished with figures of 1/24, dismissing Axar Patel (15; 21 balls), as none of the DC batsmen could capitalize despite a brisk start.
In a match where their batsmen struggled, Kuldeep Yadav emerged as Delhi’s highest scorer with an unbeaten 35 off 26 balls against his former team, ensuring they surpassed the 150-run mark.
KKR, in reality, might feel let down for failing to dismiss Delhi despite reducing them to 111/8 within the first 15 overs, and Kuldeep’s innings added to the frustration of the home team. At a venue known for high-scoring games, bowlers dominated as Delhi managed only 67/3. Arora’s return saw him take two wickets quickly. Starc dismissed Fraser-McGurk, who mistimed a shot.
Despite a brisk run rate, Delhi struggled to form partnerships. Porel showed promise but was eventually dismissed by Rana. Pant got a reprieve but was soon out to Chakravarthy, marking his third dismissal by him in the IPL.
