KL Rahul has not traveled with the Lucknow Super Giants team for their Indian Premier League 2024 matchup against the Delhi Capitals. Rumor has it that the LSG captain will be playing for the side in this crucial match.
There are rumors that Sanjiv Goenka, the owner of the Sunrisers Hyderabad team, chastised the batter following Sunrisers Hyderabad’s 10-wicket victory over Lucknow, causing a gap between KL and the team.
To have a chance of making the playoffs, LSG needs to win their next two games. They currently have 12 points from 12 games.
KL Rahul is going to be an important part of the team. Some players’ opinions about Rahul’s strike rate have surfaced. The Indian team’s roster for the 2024 ICC T20 World Cup also included him.
LSG coach Lance Klusener dismisses KL Rahul-Sanjiv Goenka’s argument:
Lance Klusener, assistant coach of the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), has issued the team’s first official statement following owner Sanjiv Goenka‘s offensive remarks about captain KL Rahul that were captured on tape. Playing down the situation, Klusener said that Goenka’s outburst was only a “robust discussion between two cricket lovers” on Monday, May 13.
“I don’t see any problem with some robust discussion between two cricket lovers. So for us, I guess it’s just a storm in a teacup. We love a robust discussion. I think that’s how teams get better. So, it’s not a big thing for us,” Klusener told the media during the pre-match conference.
Currently sitting in seventh place with 12 points, LSG’s net Run Rate (NRR) is a dismal -0.769. There are two more games they need to play, which are away games against the Mumbai Indians (MI) and Delhi Capitals (DC). If the club makes a mistake, its chances of making the playoffs might be lost.
