Rohit Sharma is known to score double centuries in ODI cricket. The vice-captain of India already has score 3 double centuries in ODI. Last year he even scored his maiden Test double ton against South Africa. Former India cricketer Mohammad Kaif has said that Rohit might be the first to score a double century even in T20 cricket.
Rohit is known for his range of shots which he unleashes after completely getting set. Batting as an opener in white-ball cricket is also an advantage as you face the most deliveries. Kaif thinks that Rohit is a type of player that can make history and score a double century in T20s.

Nobody thought that a player can score 250 in a 50 over match in international cricket. But the swashbuckling batsman from Mumbai did the unthinkable at Eden Gardens when he registered the highest ever ODI score (264).
Considering this, Mohammad Kaif may be right as once Rohit Sharma gets into the groove it’s almost impossible to stop him. He is currently in the prime of his career and in the next year or two, he may become the first and achieve the impossible feat in T20 cricket. Kaif although thinks that it is a highly difficult task but on his day Rohit can do it.
“Rohit Sharma can do it because his strike-rate keeps on increasing during his knock. He takes time at the start, but once he crosses 100, he will bat at 250-300 strike-rate. He can do it, but it’s a very tough task.
During our days, it was tough for a team to score 200-250 in 50 overs, but now many are talking about 400-500 scores”, Kaif told young batsman Priyam Garg on Helo app.
Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma is the second-highest run-scorer in T20Is behind Indian skipper Virat Kohli. He holds the record for the most hundreds by a batsman in T20Is with 4. The current record of the highest individual score in T20s is 175 that was scored by Chris Gayle. The T20 skipper of Australia holds the record of the highest runs in T20I innings which is 172.
