India captain Rohit Sharma was recently spotted interacting with a fan during Indiaโs practice session. Rohit was putting in the effort in the nets ahead of the fourth Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) 2024-25 Test in Melbourne, set to start on Thursday, December 26.
While working on his batting, a fan watching the session made a request. In a video shared online, the fan is heard saying, โRohit bhai, chhakka maaro,โ asking the Indian captain to hit a six during training. Rohit Sharma paused for a moment, glanced at the fan, and replied:
“Who is that? You want a six?”
He then assumed his stance, got back into position, and continued his batting session in the nets, defending the next delivery. Below is the video of the incident from India’s net session at the MCG:

Rohit Sharma is facing pressure to deliver due to his recent poor Test form
India captain Rohit Sharma has struggled with the bat in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy. After missing the first Test in Perth, he joined the team ahead of the Adelaide Test. Rohit moved to the No. 6 spot, a decision that sparked much debate, but it didnโt yield positive results. He scored just three and six in the two innings in Adelaide.
The third Test in Brisbane was also disappointing for Rohit, as he managed only 10 runs in the first innings and did not bat in the second. With the series tied at 1-1 and two Tests left, the Indian captain faces pressure to regain form and contribute with the bat.
It remains to be seen whether Rohit will continue batting lower down the order or return to the top, where he has been more successful. The Melbourne Test will be crucial for Rohit, not only as a captain but also as a senior batsman in the team.
