The last couple of months has been extremely difficult for Afghanistan cricket. Cricket has extremely dried up in the country along with other parts of the world in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic. And now, Afghanistan wicket-keeper batsman Afsar Zazai has suffered a massive car accident. Luckily, he escaped any serious injuries.
Meanwhile, the news of his accident was shared by a senior journalist and the former media manager of Afghanistan Cricket Board, M Ibrahim Momand. He uploaded the news along with an image on his official Twitter handle.
While it is clearly seen the car suffered massive dents, Afsar Zazai luckily escaped any serious injuries from the car accident. He suffered a head injury but nothing happened to his face or any other parts of the body.

Meanwhile, Afsar Zazai is one of the best in the business in Afghanistan currently. He made his debut in 2013; however, was not regular due to the presence of Mohammad Shahzad. He recently played all the six matches in the ICC World Cup 2019 in place of Shahzad, who had fitness concerns. So far, Zazai has represented Afghanistan in three Tests, 17 ODIs and one T20I match.
Speaking about cricket in Afghanistan, the players have returned to training last week. They had good training sessions in the last couple of days. However, it is still unknown when they will resume playing bilateral series. So far, there has been no announcement of the same.
